A New Layer of Coaching Is Coming to Outsiders CrossFit
How Goal Reviews and Personalized Coaching Can Help You Break Through Plateaus and Keep Progressing
At Outsiders CrossFit, our mission has always been simple:
Help people build fitness for life.
That means more than just writing great workouts or running energetic classes. It means helping every athlete in our community move forward, stay motivated, and continue improving over time.
Sometimes that happens in a group setting.
Sometimes it requires something a little more personal.
Over the coming months, you’ll start to see us introducing a new layer of support for our members:
Goal Review Sessions and expanded Personal Training options.
Before we explain what that looks like, let’s start with something important. Progress Doesn’t Happen by Accident
One of the biggest differences between people who stay consistent with their fitness for years and people who fall off after a few months is simple: They have a plan. Not just a workout plan. A plan that includes:
• Clear goals
• Regular check-ins
• Adjustments along the way
• Accountability
That’s where coaching really matters.
Fitness is rarely a straight line. There are plateaus, injuries, busy seasons of life, and moments where motivation dips. The athletes who keep moving forward are the ones who stop, reassess, and make small changes when necessary.
That’s exactly why we’re introducing Goal Review Sessions.
What Is a Goal Review Session?
Think of a Goal Review as a short meeting with a coach where we sit down together and talk about your progress.
We’ll look at questions like:
• What are you most proud of over the past few months?
• What has been the biggest challenge?
• What goals matter most to you right now?
• Are you happy with your progress?
Sometimes the answer to that last question is yes, and that’s great. It means the process is working and we simply keep going.
Other times the answer is not quite, and that’s where coaching becomes really valuable. Because when progress slows down, the answer isn’t usually “try harder.” The answer is often change something about the plan.
That might mean adjusting training frequency.
It might mean adding skill work.
It might mean improving recovery or nutrition habits.
Or it might mean adding a little more individualized coaching.
Why Personal Training Exists
Personal training sometimes gets misunderstood in the fitness world.
It’s often seen as something reserved for beginners or elite athletes.
But in reality, personal training simply provides something every athlete benefits from:
Focused attention.
In a one-on-one setting, a coach can:
• Adjust training based on how you’re feeling that day
• Help refine technique and movement patterns
• Track progress more closely
• Build a plan around your personal goals
For some athletes, that extra layer of support can dramatically accelerate progress.
For others, it can help them overcome specific challenges that might be holding them back.
And sometimes, it simply provides the accountability needed to stay consistent.
The Power of Small Adjustments
One of the things we love about coaching is that sometimes the smallest adjustments can produce the biggest results.
Maybe it’s improving squat mechanics.
Maybe it’s dialing in pacing on workouts.
Maybe it’s focusing on consistency rather than intensity.
Those types of changes often happen best when a coach and athlete take a few minutes to step back and look at the bigger picture.
That’s the role Goal Reviews and Personal Training are designed to play.
They allow us to celebrate wins, identify opportunities for growth, and make sure the plan continues moving you toward your goals.
What This Means for the Outsiders Community
In the coming weeks and months, you’ll begin seeing us introduce more opportunities for members who want extra coaching support.
This may include:
• Quarterly Goal Review Sessions
• Expanded Personal Training options
• Small-group coaching opportunities
These are simply additional tools we can use to help members get the results they’re looking for.
And like everything we do at Outsiders, they are designed with one purpose in mind:
Helping you succeed.
The Bottom Line
The class workouts will always remain the foundation of what we do.
Showing up consistently, working hard, and supporting one another is still the heart of this community.
But great coaching also means evolving.
It means finding new ways to help people break through plateaus, stay motivated, and continue building strength and confidence for years to come.
Goal Reviews and expanded personal coaching options are simply the next step in that process.
And we’re excited to share more with you soon.
